Everything you wanted to know about Pell's equation

ABSTRACT:
Euler mistakenly attributed Pell's name to the diophantine
equation
x2 - dy2 = 1. Since then, Pell's equation has been studied
extensively. I plan to introduce some basic properties, a method
of finding solutions, and some applications of Pell's equation
which has given Pell's equation its important place in Number
Theory.
