Title Of Talk: Towards a `global' theory of integer partitions

Abstract: If S is a given set of positive integers, and M is a set of nonnegative integers containing 0, let p(n,S,M) be the number of partitions of n whose parts all lie in S and the multiplicities of whose parts all lie in M. We will discuss the question of finding direct quantitative relationships between the defining sets S,M, on the one hand, and the properties of the resulting partition function, on the other. This is joint work with Rod Canfield.
