Hershel FarkasAffiliation: Hebrew University, Jerusalem Email: farkas@math.huji.ac.il Title Of Talk: Theta Constant Identities and Number Theory Abstract: The one dimensional theta constant identities yield information concerning the number of representations of a positive integer as sums of squares or sums of triangular numbers. In this talk we shall show what types of further information we obtain from the higher dimensional theta constant identities. We shall restrict the discussion to dimension 2 but the theory can be easily extended to higher dimensions.
