Mertens constants in prime number theory

ABSTRACT:
We will discuss asymptotic estimates
due to Mertens that lead to evaluation of constants
in certain sums and and products involving primes.
Such evaluations shed light on the distributiion of
primes as well as on certain projected estimates
arising from sieve arguments.
