A close look at Euler's theorem on partitions into
odd parts and distinct parts
|
ABSTRACT:
Anyone beginning a study of the theory of partitions
starts with Euler's simple and beautiful result: The number of
partitions of an integer n into odd parts equals the number
of partitions of n into distinct parts. We will discuss various
improvements, refinements, extensions and generalizations
of this theorem, since the time of Euler to the present.
