In a major effort to stimulate research and education, the University of Florida
Mathematics Department has set a program of conducting Special Years in
areas of our strengths and traditions. Each Special Year has several international
conferences, featured talks (Distinguished Colloquia and History Lectures)
of wide appeal, as well as several long and short term visitors.
