PROGRAM IN ALGEBRA, NUMBER THEORY AND COMBINATORICS 2009-10
FOCUSED WEEKS ON QUADRATIC AND HIGHER DEGREE FORMS AND RELATED AREAS

During 2009-10, the third year of the Program in Algebra, Number Theory and Combinatorics will feature Focused Weeks on the following topics:

  1. Week on Quadratic Forms and Theta Functions, Mar 22-26, 2010
  2. Week on Integral Lattices, Feb 15-20, 2010
These focused weeks are a follow up to the two conferences on Quadratic and Higher Degree Forms and Related Topics held in Spring 2009. Like the conferences in 2009, the Focused weeks in 2010 are fully funded by the NSF. The topic of Higher Degree Forms will be included in the above two Focused weeks. Each Focused Week will have about 7 to 10 participants with a mix of senior mathematicians, junior researchers and students. There will be one or two seminars each day of every Focused Week.

The Focused weeks will be supplemented by the Ramanujan Colloquium (Mar 24) and Seminars (Mar 25-26). This is sponsored by George Andrews who will be in residence from late January until the end of March, and possibly until early April.
